STORY
On March 4, 2001, by the call of God, Grace Missionary Baptist Church was established and held her first service in the garage of Wheatfall daycare in Northeast Houston. Grace was established by Pastor Derrick Davis, Tamara Davis, Rev. Lester Shannon, Rachel Shannon, Rev. Derrick Spearman and Merneen Spearman.
We were so excited at our very first baptismal service in which we had 12 candidates, who all surrendered their lives to Christ. Since then Grace has baptized numerous new converts.
By September 2001, just 6 months later, Grace was blessed to transition to Farrington church building located off 59N/Parker Road, to continue worshiping God. With a sanctuary, classroom space, a gym, playground, and parking lot we had the opportunity to expand our Kingdom work in the community.
Over the 10 years spent at Farrington Church, Grace experienced tremendous growth in the Lord and was able to do a variety of community service events, discipleship building, and leadership training. After having an inspiring mission trip to Brazil in 2004, our Pastor implemented the Principle of G Twelve strategy that has since greatly impacted this ministry. Grace has held many Encounter God Weekend where many youth, adults and the Texas Department of Correction men have opened their hearts to receive healing, deliverance, and freedom to fulfill their God given assignments. Over the years, Grace has birthed 7 ministers, have ordained 2 as Pastors all are continuing to grow in their call to impact the Kingdom of God.
On November 19, 2010, Grace purchased land that would one day be our home. Grace moved to Fonwood Elementary School for Sunday worship services right across from our land so that we could drive by and envision the promise God had for us.
In 2011, Grace purchased a modular building that would sit on our land and we had our first service there July of 2012. That year, 2012, Grace Missionary Baptist Church became Grace Church International. Grace Church International continued in faith in hopes of building from the ground of our land and enlarging our territory.
Grace has hosted local gospel crusades in cities such as Houston TX., Center, TX and Texarkana, TX. We also had the opportunity to serve in the Reinherd Bounke Gospel crusade here in Houston. Grace also participates in International missions and have sent missionaries to places such as Poland, Tanzania, Kenya, Johannesburg, Beijing, Mexico, and Brazil. Our youth have been on several mission trips to Mission TX., Hildalgo TX. and the border of Mexico.
May 28, 2017, By the power and grace of God, we had our groundbreaking service and declared this is "Project Manifestation". By faith, this began our building project that would become a full manifestation of the promise made by God, in which we now sit here as a witness and partaker of the promise being fulfilled. The building project was erected in 6 months and we entered in Nov 2017. The official building dedication was in March of 2018. Now we are celebrating 18 years of perseverance, faith, and thankfulness to God. As we have proclaimed every Sunday since the beginning, we are the church where people can have fellowship with God, unite with the family of God, to witness our faith, concerning the God who sets sinners free.
Reaching the orphans of the Christian faith, to evangelize the un-churched community and to support missions locally and globally.
